UNIT sparks 2019 Supercars campaign with MSR and Penrite Racing

UNIT’s continued commitment to motorsport will be seen on one of the biggest sporting stages this weekend as it hits the Adelaide Supercars track as the naming rights sponsor of Matt Stone Racing (MSR).

Investing heavily in action sports throughout its 16-year-history, this weekend marks a major new foray into the four-wheel market, with the brand also building upon its relationship with title contender David Reynolds and Penrite Racing.

Car #35, piloted by young gun Todd Hazelwood, will be hard to miss in a wildly-popular silver and black livery which will feature primary UNIT branding.

Hazelwood will look to make an impact in his second year of competing in the top-tier series, confident a steady rookie season has him well positioned heading into the first event of 2019.

UNIT will also feature prominently across the Super2 entries of MSR, adorning the race cars of Abbie Eaton and Ash Walsh.

Expanding for 2019 is the link between UNIT and Reynolds, pilot of the #9 Penrite Holden. UNIT joins both championship-contending Penrite Racing cars in the Erebus stable as a supporting sponsor.

The synergy between Supercar racing and the UNIT brand is strong - the iconic logo symbolises the moment of ignition, the explosive chemical reaction between spark plug and liquid gasoline, the connection between dream and life.

UNIT General Manager Joel McDonald was excited to announce the details of the new and existing partnerships ahead of the highly-anticipated season opener.

“As an Australian-owned and operated business, we are truly proud to shine the spotlight on the Supercars Championship and continue to invest and develop the next new wave of talent in this arena,” said McDonald.

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership scope within the world’s most competitive touring car championship, through our new team alignment with MSR and existing partnership with Penrite Racing respectively and UNIT Ambassadors, David Reynolds and Todd Hazelwood.

"We are looking forward to the exciting season ahead and engaging will our incredible fans, commencing this weekend at the Superloop 500 in Adelaide.”

UNIT’s recent expansion into four-wheel motorsport comes as it continues to invest heavily in its core sport markets, further increasing support of both athletes and events.

“Our commitment and support of the sports that have shaped our iconic brand is ever-growing, from both the grassroots right through to elite level competition.

“Highly successful releases across multiple channels, including MX, MTB, BMX active and lifestyle, see the brand continue to grow rapidly.

“2019 marks another major year of growth for the brand, and we’re excited for more major milestones to come."
