Phillips claims EnduroGP World Championship

Aussie off-road gun Matt Phillips has been crowned the 2016 EnduroGP World Champion after a standout season on factory Sherco machinery.

The Tasmanian, who has been a force on the world stage for several seasons, took the step to race the Sherco 300SEF-R this season despite many doubting its ability to stack up against more powerful riders.

The dynamic Phillips proved the doubters wrong, establishing an early lead in the outright and E2 championships which he maintained through to the final event in France last weekend.

The well-liked Aussie was showered in champagne as his team celebrated an unlikely but popular victory. Congrats, Matt, from all of the UNIT crew!
