Colton Walker wins X Games BMX Dirt Gold

UNIT’s Colton Walker is the owner of X Games gold after an incredible run to the top score in a star-studded BMX dirt final.

The 20-year-old rider, who grew up in Minneapolis, withstood the pressure of an average early run by throwing down an unbeatable 93.00 score and upstaging some of BMX’s biggest names in the process.

His run began with a backflip barspin-to-tailwhip and a 360 tailwhip-to-barspin, followed by a 360 downside whip. He hit the quarter pipe with confidence, executing a flair whip to barspin to confirm the highest score to that point.

Walker waited nervously but no rider could better his effort, confirming him an emotional gold medal winner in his biggest career moment to date.

“The level of riding out here was incredible,” he said. "Having to wait all of the final run to see if my score would hold up I thought I was going to go insane.”

“All of the people here giving me this energy and supporting me – I just want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart.”
